Use this template just like any other. Make sure to choose the “Full Page Background Template”. Image comes from the “Full Page Background” field below.
Make sure that you are using images that are around 2000px wide, with a decent height (try to keep heights the same or just below the width of your image)
This template can be applied to pre-existing pages by simply changing the template.
